In the 2004 election George Soros made a mockery of campaign finance laws by spending millions to defeat George Bush. (Isn't it funny what rich liberals think they can buy?) Soros's money is still at work to defeat Bush, except in this case it's actually being used to aid Al Qaeda. Soros is no fan of Bush's war on terror and Privacy International, a 'civil liberties group,' funded by Soros, is demanding that the U.S. be blocked from any anti-terror efforts to track the finances of terrorists.

LONDON -- A civil liberties group said Wednesday that it had asked governments around the world to block the release of confidential financial records to U.S. anti-terrorism authorities.

London-based watchdog Privacy International said it had filed complaints with data protection and privacy regulators in 13 European countries, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong, arguing that the disclosures of financial transactions "were made without any legal basis or authority whatsoever."  ~Washington Post

Essentially, the left not only opposes any military effort in the war on terror is also opposes any law enforcement effort to defeat Al Qaeda. And Soros is again a funding source.
Privacy International has received funding and support from a range of Foundations, academic establishments and non-government organisations. These include the Soros Foundation, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Electronic Privacy Information Center, The Fund for Constitutional Government, the Stern Foundation, the Privacy Foundation, the German Marshall Fund, and the University of New South Wales (Sydney). The organisation is also minimally financed through contributions. Privacy International an independent non-profit organization chartered in the UK. Its US organization is administered through the Fund for Constitutional Government in Washington DC. ~Privacy International web site
Is there any doubt now that the left has no intention of prosecuting any sort of war on terror? At least Kerry made some noise about a law enforcement approach for the war on terror. But now we know that the left will treat that just like they treat normal law enforcement-- by coddling the criminals, ignoring the victims, and refusing to be tough on crime. They are enablers of terror just as they are enablers of crime.

Addendum: George Soros' goal is indeed to end the war on terror.
June 28, 2006 - George Soros has assigned himself a daunting mission. "Changing the attitude and policies of the United States remains my top priority," he writes in the introduction to his latest book, "The Age of Fallibility" (PublicAffairs). The billionaire investor is set on convincing Americans to renounce the idea of a "war on terror" because he believes that an "endless" war against an invisible enemy is counterproductive and dangerous. He argues that since the attacks of September 11, the Bush administration has suffered from a kind of infallibility complex which impedes progress and obscures reality.  ~msnbc.com
According to Soros it is America that is the real threat to world peace.
NEWSWEEK: You say that the main obstacle to a stable and just world is the United States. That's a pretty strong statement.

George Soros: Yes, but it happens to coincide with the prevailing opinion in the world. And I think that's rather shocking for Americans to hear. The United States sets the agenda for the world. And the rest of the world has to respond to that agenda. By declaring a "war on terror" after September the 11th, we set the wrong agenda for the world. This is something that people in America find difficult to understand because war seems like the natural response.  ~msnbc.com
He goes on to say that the mere fact that we are waging a war on terror makes us the terrorists, that we are the threat to democracy.
We abhor terrorists, because they kill innocent people for political goals. But by waging war on terror we are doing the same thing. And the people who are on the receiving end see us in the same light with the same negative attitude as we have towards terrorists. It's also a threat to our democracy. Because when you wage war, the president can appropriate for himself excessive powers.  ~msnbc.com
